Carzone’s Ultimate Bank Holiday Driving playlist

To celebrate the last bank holiday of the summer, Carzone, Ireland's number one website to buy and sell new and used cars has put together the ultimate weekend driving playlist on Spotify

Carzone asked Irish drivers to vote for their favourite driving songs on its Facebook page and the result is 160 classic hits that are perfect for road tripping this weekend.

Whether you’re travelling alone, with a gang of friends or a car full of kiddies, Carzone has some classic car tunes to make the journey fly by!

Car classics

The list features some classic driving tunes including Roy Orbison’s ‘I drove all night’ and Chuck Berry’s ‘No particular place to go’.  Other classic rockers that feature include Bryan Adams, Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi.

Recommended Drive: Braveheart Drive- Wicklow

Wicklow’s landscape provides perfect scenery for weekend drives. This scenic route starts in a little village called Hollywood and sets off in the direction of the Wicklow Gap, which features some incredible landscapes, lakes and mountain scenery. If you’re feeling fit and adventurous, the Sugar Loaf mountain is a fun family adventure, the sensational walk way to the top of the Sugar Loaf reveals a sensational view of the Dublin mountains and Dublin city.

If rock music isn't your thing, don’t worry there's plenty of classic karaoke choices to choose from. Wind the windows down and belt out Abba’s ‘Dancing Queen’ like no one’s watching or get into the 80s groove with some classic Wham or Queen.

Recommended Drive: The Inishowen 100, Donegal

The scenic Inishowen 100 is a 100-mile scenic route around one of Ireland’s most beautiful regions, the Inishowen Peninsula. Along the way, you can visit Ireland’s most northerly point, Malin Head, which has breathtaking views of the Atlantic and will make you feel like you’re on the edge of the world.

Guilty pleasures

It seems Irish drivers are fond of a guilty pleasure or two with Maniac 2000, Total Eclipse of the Heart and Living Next Door to Alice all making the list.

Recommended Drive: Cliffs of Moher

Drive through County Clare for one of Ireland’s most spectacular road trips. Drive along the picturesque Cliffs of Moher, which stand an incredible 700 feet above the Atlantic Ocean. The drive is a lengthy one, so be sure to take a small pit stop from driving and explore the Burren and the Aillwee Caves.

So pack up the car, open the sunroof (weather permitting), and cruise to some ultimate tunes with Carzone this Bank Holiday weekend.
